Salvation Army Bell Ringing & Angel Tree
On the first Saturday of December - Dickens Festival - volunteers from the United Methodist Church of Wellsboro 'ring the bells' for the Salvation Army in front of the church building. Volunteers work in 30 minute to 1 hour shifts throughout the day to collect money for this charitable organization.
Every child deserves to have a wonderful Christmas. The angel tree helps to ensure that needy children in the community will receive a special gift for Christmas. Each angel on the tree represents one child and depicts his or her wish list item. UMCoW collects the items from church members who volunteer to purchase these special gifts. |
