UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF WELLSBORO
The people of the United Methodist Church invite you to Sunday service at
10:30., with Sunday School at 9:00 The nursery is open for Sunday service from
10:00 until noon, with two Safe Sanctuary-trained adults on hand.
On Sunday, February 15, the Praise Team opened the service with, “Speak O
Lord.” The Call to Worship was a combination of prayer and the singing of “Maker,
in Whom We Live.” Bev McKnight shared the Did You Know? moment with
information about the Tuesday night Administration Council meeting.
Maureen Johnston directed the Senior Choir in singing, “How Majestic Is Your
Name.” Pastor Jackson read the scripture, Ephesians 3:16-21. Her message,
“Embracing Our Heritage,” started with the history of the City Road Chapel in
England, where John Wesley began his ministry, and continued with all the ways
in which God is still at work in our lives and communities. Happy Birthday was
sung to Callie Jackson and Keith Goehring. Ushers were Larry Snyder, Craig Fields,
and Amy and Keith Goehring. After the service, Joyce Wilson and Julie Wetherbee
provided the Fellowship refreshments. The Jackson family shared a big birthday
cake for Callie, who turned 4 today. After a second singing of Happy Birthday for
her, she blew out the candles.
On Tuesday, February 10, the Administrative Council met at 6:30. Chair
Karen Blackwell led the committee through the busy agenda, including reports
from SPRC Chair Brenda Coder and Trustees Chair Craig Fields, as well as from the
Pastor and several team leaders.
On Friday, February 13, several members met to plan for the future of the
Mission Fund “Raisers,” by outlining possible recipients of donations, listing a
tentative calendar of fund-raising events, and agreeing on a method of showing
accountability for fund raising results.
